I was fortunate to see them all together in the mid 90s in Biloxi for the
“Return to the paradise theater tour” (Kansas opened for them) great show
I’ve seen Dennis twice. Once with a band. Once solo.

I must be an operatic junkie as I could never see Queen without Freddie.

And I loved seeing Rodger Hodgson
The star of Supertramp

The fact that Shaw still sings those songs in the original keys is unreal.

Was at this show. My first concert ever. Was like 10 years old and my dad took me. Now my wife works at a venue so we get to go to any show and Styx comes often. Take my kids every time. Wish Kansas would come.

He is like 6'2" or 6'3" or something, which is bananas when you consider how short Tommy Shaw is. Mutt and Jeff.

He has a emotional story. When he was first coming on board (he had recorded with them in session) after John couldn't play anymore, he performed at a live show with them. He asked Chuck (John's fraternal twin brother), the OG bassist, "How was it?" Chuck replied, "It was fine. I never played with another drummer before."

I was in a Franks Nursery and Crafts store back on the late 80s and him and his wife were buying several large Christmas trees.

He had hair like a cocker spaniel.

Fair enough and true. James Hetfield did look like the Cowardly Lion and James Young did look like a human cocker spaniel.

he was 58 when i met him, so he’s 72 or so now

i lost the top end of my range in my late 40s, it truly is remarkable that he can still hit those notes well above the staff with any authority

They won’t play Mr Roboto due to the fallout with Dennis DeYoung.

That's one reason....the main reason is the song sucked.

That was definitely when I jumped off the Styx Bandwagon, and the idea was basically stolen from Rush 2112. DeYoung took rock perfection and dumbed it down to a smarmy Broadway play.

Saw them, REO Speedwagon and Survivor at the Cajundome back in 2000 or 2001. Was in college at the time.

Those dudes were getting a little up in age back then. They must get pumped up with IVs before going on stage these days.

I saw them in the Grand Illusion tour in 1977 and again for the Paradise Theater tour. They sounded better live than most of the concerts I attended during those years; great shows.

Stumbled across some performances Tommy did a few years ago with a youth orchestra. Good stuff.

Not as bad as that one. After Pieces of Eight, they should have just stopped.
