Peoples minds should not be allowed such greatness.....
Its amazing................
Just think of the fact you were able to get two other people that you can trust so much how are able to play together is is mind boggling....
The combination of those three as great as they are..... WOW...
One of the BEST guitar players to ever live
One of the BEST Bassists of all time
And the GOAT drummer (IMO)
Talk about a key to greatness...........

Yeah they're not like Helix or anything. Now THEY got good lyrics, like "Give me an R-O-C-K" and then the entire crowd yells rock. Rush just don't do stuff like that, they got these lyrics about... how trees are talking to each other, and how different sides of your brain works, and outer space bullshite.

They had some great music but Geddy was a garbage vocalist.

No good songs???????? Ok you listen to pop rock. It’s ok.

Actually he was perfect for what they were doing......

He never claimed to be a great vocalist. Despite that he is better than a lot of them who claim they are. If that is the weakest link you can find you might want to go back to Twisted Sister or some other pop-rock band.

...In before Kafka shits on Rush!
I’ve liked Rush since I got into them in 1986, but since picking up the bass a few years ago, I have come to really appreciate just how good all 3 of those guys are/were at their craft. Alex is a fantastic player, he just gets overshadowed because his other band mates were masters of their instruments.
...and I mean no malice toward Kafka, he brings more to the music board than any other poster—but Rush always lands on his “most hated/disliked/crappy bands” threads, which makes me chuckle
Kafka—give Rush’s “Presto” album from 1988 a chance...it’s not prog-rock, anthem, story telling, multi-level 10 minute tracks like some of the 70’s stuff which may take some “getting-in-to”...Presto’s songs are all 4-6 minutes in length, no anthems....every track is good, and it was digitally mastered and edited, which was still relatively new in 1987-88, so sound quality is fantastic (Rush’s “Hold Your Fire”, the album before Presto, (from 1986-7), was their first to be fully produced digitally from soup to nuts—very few bands adopted full digital mix/edit/master that early on...which is why it sounds a bit different (thin?) than all the previous LPs).
