I hope this isn't a dig at The Police

Not at all. I love the Police. It is just a really Ghost In The Machine feeling song and it is so very great that I bet the Police would hear it and wish they had written it. Love to both bands.

Love all the songs mentioned. I really liked 'Subdivisions' & it's video.

Fly By Night

Album was shite, but the self titled song and Working Man, clued you in to this being a big band in the future.

Don’t know about that. Anthem is a mothereffer, ByTor jams, and In The End is a real sleeper track of theirs.

Working Man was on their debut album.

ByTor/In The End/In The Mood/2112 Finale

This is Rush at the height of their powers. The police should have been called for what they did to those instruments.

Anthem

B I G song, I know I meant that one, as per the album. My apologies.

Working Man was the only bright light on the previous outing, I´m guessing.

One of those insanely talented bands that held back by average songwriting skills and mediocre vocals. Rush would have been absolutely incredible, GOAT if they had brought in a 4th member with a better voice than Getty Lee. With that said, I'm still a fan, saw them live back in 2012, and listen to their Fly By Night and Moving Pictures albums frequently.

Lol. Average songwriting skills? Um, fricking what? Mediocre vocals? Maybe you don't like Geddy's voice but he was never a mediocre vocalist. GOAT? They're a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band with a career spanning dozens of albums over five decades, plus countless sold out arena tours to go with their immense influence on bands from every conceivable genre. But I guess you're RUSH fan #1 because you saw them once and air drummed to YYZ.

I absolutely hate Getty Lee’s voice, like nails on a chalk board.

Their early stuff is great, up to and including Moving Pictures. After that, they got way to much into synthesizers for my taste.

Love the live version of By-Tor and the Snow Dog !

That has to be one of the most ignorant statement I've read on this board.

This is a good thread for me to dip my toes into to gauge to the collective musical intellect of TD.

Several of you did not make the cut. Rife with mfing ignorance.
