Old music is dominating because more recent music has relied less and less on "albums" as a format.

Also my picks:

Kate Bush: Never for Ever, The Dreaming, Hounds of Love

Joni Mitchell: Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon, Blue

New Order: Brotherhood, Technique, Republic

In addition to a bunch previously listed.

Lord Huron ~ “Lonesome Dreams”, “Strange Trails”, & “Vide Noir”.
For me, their music has an everlasting quality. Also, FWIW, I picture it being music Pink Floyd would make if they made an entire album while hiking & camping, with a light sprinkling of Elvis wiggle ??

In the 90s, for popular music releases I also liked

Pretty hate machine, the downward spiral, the fragile

Cowboys from hell, vulgar display of power, fay beyond driven

Portrait of an American family, antichrist superstar, mechanical animals

Nevermind, in utero, unplugged in New york
