I always enjoyed how the 8track would click over mid song. I still think of Barry Manilow songs with the change in the middle.

About 20 years ago I got around 12 free cassettes from a Columbia RC free trial offer -- that I immediately cancelled
I built up quite a stash with these clubs.

For whatever reason, I always think of a Kool And The Gang 8-track I had. It would switch in the middle of "Too Hot".
I also used to have the 8-track adapter that played cassettes.

Yep. Used to skip classes all the time and go to Leisure Landing and hang out. Was like a treasure trove of goodies, especially for British metal at that time. Found some great stuff there that I still own. It was a step above New Generation (both locations), and later on, Kadairs. What a fun place and time that was.

Do any of you old-timers remember a store called Gandolf's, which was just up the street from the Pastime? This would be late 60s early 70s. I picked up a bootleg copy of Let It Be on vinyl there. Had songs that didn't make the final cut, espeically one I remember called When She Walks. Lent it to my brother-in-law and never got it back.

I remember buying The Cars first and second albums, Pat Benatar's first album, and 'London Calling' on 8-track.

I am 36. I do not know if I actually saw 8-tracks in a regular store; when I asked for a "boom box" of my own (82, 5 yes old), I was given an 8-tracked player and a few tapes to prove whether I was responsible or not.
I do remember seeing 8-tracks at convenience stores/truck stops around that age.
