A) 8-track tapes;
B) Cassette tapes; and,
C) Vinyl records

all in the SAME record store.

Is this a "I am older than you so I know more about music" thread?

I don't know if I ever saw 8 tracks in a record store. Saw them in other outlets though, like convenience stores.

I saw all, but no idea if I ever saw 8-tracks and cassettes at the same time. My guess would be yes, but I have no specific memory.

I've seen them all, but probably not in a store, because I was a kid.

Who here remembers Reel to Reel?? I've still got my dad's copy of The Beatles Hey Jude.

I remember when 8-tracks were first introduced. Wow, what a crap medium. Had an 8-track player mounted in my glove compartment. BR heat is not healthy for tapes.

8-tracks were better than audio cassettes. I mean, you could directly access songs on them like on a CD, which you couldn't do on a tape.

I always enjoyed the crossover you got from other songs on the tape. Truly a unique listening experience.

Reel to Reel was the premium at one point. My uncle had a sweet setup including one.
