Uggh. This sucks. I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan. Saw them play at Tipitina's in 92, a week or so after they were on Saturday Night Live. I saw the first of the three nights they did at Lakefront Arena in 93, best concert I saw in my life. I've always wanted to hear Eddie Vedder sing outside of a rock context, but this ain't it. There are so few good rock bands nowadays, we don't need Pearl Jam or Queens of the Stone Age cutting records with producers who make music for 30-year-old women.

Yes, and yet it still has that distinct PJ sound. I thought it was killer, and I like that they are trying to do something different. It reminds me of a Depeche Mode/Talking Heads/The Strokes type of movement in song. Very good stuff!

Heard it for the first time on Sirius yesterday. After 10 seconds I thought EV sounded just like David Byrne. Wondered is there would.be a thread about it on the music board. As expected, mixed opinions. I grew out of PJ many years ago so it doesn’t really bother me one way or another. Wasn’t terrible. Wasn’t great.
