Hugely overlooked band from Portland. They only had a few albums before breaking up. RIYL Dinosaur Jr., Sunny Day Real Estate, et al.

Pond - Wheel

Jeff Buckley

He didn't gain popularity until someone sang his version of Hallelujah on that popular karaoke show. Dude was a phenom, and without him I doubt we have the Radiohead movement that followed. He was extremely influential.

The Dismemberment Plan

There are days when I feel like Emergency and I may be the best (my favorite) album of the '90s. Or hell, of all-time.

I liked them but never got into them very much. I did like Charlatans UK a lot. They should be on this list as well.

Morphine was an absolute beast of a band. Very unique and good. Probably too unique to make it big

My man! They made many more records than just Frogstomp though...

I also agree with Sunny Day Real Estate, great band.

Love the Plan. Since I always mention Archers of Loaf in threads like these, let's try someone new:

Failure I only heard Fantastic Planet for the first time a couple of years ago but it has to be the most overlooked album of the 90s.

Tad late 80s-early 90s Seattle grunge band that never made it big but were pretty good

Seven Mary Three.

Cumbersome was huge, but they faded after that in the spotlight. They had many more good songs over 2-3 albums.

No way that guy's voice could hold up though over time.
