I like rock, but not enough to dive in. I have lost all touch with that genre with what's new. Does anyone have bands out there they they like, putting out new music? I can only listen to the same Metallica so much. I like bands with some melody, but can get aggressive. Metallica, Slipknot, System of a Down, Korn, things like that. I just feel like I listen tot he same songs of these over and over. Open my eyes to a new band.

Hmm seems we like similar types of music here are some suggestions:

King Gizzard & Lizard Wizard "Infest The Rats Nest"
Gojira "Foritude" or "Silvera"
Ghost "Meliora"

Don't crush me if you don't like these, just suggestions

Thanks. I came across Gojira on Pandora. I actually have those 2 songs on rotation . I'll check the others out.

...well then you may want some rock in the form of Disturbed, Orgy, Godsmack, Stained, papa roach, POD, linkin Park, deftones, mudvayne..

Always listened to the popular Disturbed, Godsmack is on the rotation too. Didn't papa Roach get all emo? Just looking for someone different than those big names mentioned.

I can put it on Pandora on Metallica station, SotD, Korn, Godsmack, etc, and basically get all the same songs.

New Rock?

Crobot - dirty hard rock with some funk
Rival Sons - traditional rock. Similar sound as The Cult.
The Struts - glam rock. Queen influence all over their music.

There’s a lot of new bands doing a sort of “classic rock” style vintage sound with Greta Van Fleet being the most successful. Dirty Honey, South of Eden, The L.A. Maybe, The Struts, Jade Bird, Bishop Gunn, Blackberry Smoke, etc all fall into that category.

For heavier stuff, I recommend Mastodon, The Sword, All Them Witches, Devin Townsend Project, and Royal Blood.

There’s some good heavyish bands in the pop punk scene like Rise Against, Four Years Strong, Knocked Loose, Knucklepuck, Tigers Jaw, The Maine

Solid list. I would also add Joyous Wolf, The Temperance Movement, Revival Black, Gorilla Riot, Them Dirty Roses, The Rising Souls, Goodbye June, and Ethan and the Reformation. The Dust Coda and MojoThunder aren't bad either.

I've been listening to In Flames a ton the last few months. Don't know why I didn't get into them earlier.
