My stepsister dated Tommy Shaw in High School. He was the geek of the neighborhood. I remember her taking me over to his house when I was in elementary school to watch his band play in the garage. His garage was painted purple on the inside.

There is no denying the technical prowess of Rush. Songs are kinda ridiculous, but there are probably no better three players together ever.
Styx was pretty silly. Some catchy songs. FWIW all you Tommy Shaw haters - he and Jack Blades from Night Ranger do some very nice classic rock acoustic covers ( Shaw/Blades). Very nice playing and harmonies.

I can respect differing tastes, but Rush is what Styx wishes they were. Honestly, they are on different planets in terms of proficiency. I could see Rush against Yes or Genesis even, but Styx?

The music board may be the only one more pompous and ignorant than the poli board. It's the "my way or the highway" mindset for many.
