When I was young, I had the opportunity to hear Johnny Cook perform several times in churches. He performed with the Happy Goodmans at the beginning of his career and later branched out on his own. What stood out about him was his incredible vocal range. I've never heard anyone come close, except maybe Josh Kiszka, the singer for Greta Van Fleet.

Check out Johnny Cook doing Amazing Grace. He goes up an octave on the last verse.

I always thought Mick Hucknall was the best male vocalist I've heard. Not sure how his "range" stacks up though.

I'm going to have to go with Devin Townsend (A1 - C#7) or Mike Patton (A1 - G#6)

I actually looked this up recently, and his name seemed to be top or near on everything I read. Axle Rose as well.

I don't know if anyone knows who this guy is but Tim Foust from Homefree has a wide range.

Nick Pitera. YouTube guy, think he worked at Pixar but was never a professional music artist I don’t believe.

This is the correct answer.

Roy Oribison was classically trained and Elvis said whose voice was superior than his. The problem is his range is average. He isn't a powerhouse vocalist but his has a smooth baritone voice.

I seriously doubt both Rose and Bowie can sing B1 or an F1. They probably struggle to touch those notes with vocal fry. Those notes are easy for bass singers such as JD Sumner.

Yes, those guys are able to more easily hit an A1 than Axl Rose, but nobody is saying Rose has the lowest range. I will say this with certainty, Axl Rose has a far more impressive vocal range than any of those guys you posted.

Back in the day Frankie Valli or Bobby Hatfield. Both could hit crazy notes. Chris Stapleton is pretty versatile

Just because a singer has a wider range doesn't make them a better singer. Rose is a high baritone that can hit some high and some low notes but his comfort zone is in the baritone range. Newstalk gave the false indication that if a singer can hit those notes then they can sing those notes very easily and that isn't true. Every singer has a voice type and in the classic sense, hundreds of voice types.
