This one though. One of my favorites to play live, even when my drummer plays it too fast and my left hand is screaming in agony.
Great tune, great bassline and I love it. However, I'm not 100% sure the bassline is the lead. ONLY because they do such a good job of weaving ALL the instruments together producing a wonderful harmony.
But one of my fav nevertheless...

The Real Me - The Who
Surprised there are not more Who songs on this list.

I've always thought the bass lead in on No More Tears by Ozzy was pretty damned strong.

Like most, just picking ones I like. If we technically went for bass as lead, that narrows you down to Primus, a lot of funk music, and Big Bottom by Spinal Tap.

Might as well add this one since I didn't see it posted yet:

I stumbled across some bass cover videos a few years ago of Last Train to London by ELO and was surprised I had not previously noticed how involved the bass part is. A lot of disco songs have pretty good bass parts.

Great bass line here but she is playing a Squire Bass VI which is a sorta hybrid bass/guitar. I just bought one so have been listening to various songs featuring the Bass VI
