Miley has a lot of talent, and can actually sing. Rock is more up her alley IMO..

Id venture that the majority of the people who downvoted didn’t know the original video or watch the video at all, cause it is by far the most powerful imagery I’ve seen in any music video of a cover ever.

This is getting praise all over my feed, I just don't see the appeal. Sure, it's a decent cover of an iconic song, she does fine, but it's not anything special at all. It's honestly basic as F.

Yeah, it's just kind of there. Not offensive at all, but also not exciting. I was thinking she'd make it her own, but it's a pretty straight-forward cover. I'd rather just listen to the original if that's the case.

Miley has always had a rock singer's voice. If she had debuted as the front woman of an even halfway decent rock band instead of a country/pop Disney star, a lot folks would have a completely different opinion of her.

She literally out-"Gaga'd" Lady Gaga. (So what did LG do? she put on a cocktail dress and started singing standards and showing the world that she's a world class musician.)
But back to Miley, now that she's gotten a little older and starting to find herself and her voice, I've started to enjoy her music. The last couple of years have been very good, IMHO, from her high energy stuff, to country, to rock, to whatever.
I think she really got to the heart of Zombie
. You can tell she really likes the song and that it means something to her. I would have liked to see her try to "lilt" one chorus like Delores O'Riordian did. Just to see if she could do it.

I never paid her any attention until Bangerz came out. Dead Petz was basically a modern psychedelic pop record, not something you see in music much nowadays. I think she makes interesting music now that she's escaped the Disneyfied, corporate pop confines she grew up in. She announced today her new album is called Plastic Hearts and comes out November 27th. Zombie and Heart of Glass will be on it.

I pre-ordered her album on iTunes awhile back. One of the tracks from it dropped last night. It's an official mash-up between Midnight Sky and Edge of Seventeen, featuring Stevie Nicks.
