I was there in '05 and '06...it has changed a lot over the last decade or so.

ETA...there were tons of great sets that year...but the most memorable was Cyprus Hill being so high that they could barely stand up...it was a total shitshow.

Funniest thing about that '06 Bonnaroo poster: Knicks owner James Dolan's band "JD & Straight Shot" down there towards the bottom

Most people are gone by Sunday night anyway.

The lineup doesn't absolutely blow my doors off, but it isn't as bad as this thread would have you believe. I'm pretty confident that if I went I could find somebody I wanted to see at any given time.

I haven't looked, but I would imagine the coachella lineup isn't significantly different. They tend to mirror each other a lot. It is what it is.

Honestly, the thing that jumps out at me most on that lineup is Phish. I can't fricking stand Phish. They're giving them 3 sets? huh? I don't care whether Bonnaroo started out as a jam band festival or not, Phish blows.

I went '11-'14. '08-'12 were the peak of the fest. I've held out hope that it'd return to form but that looks unlikely.

I went in 2010 and 2011. Damn, it's been a while.

I thought 2010 was insane.

I'd do Firefly over Roo this year for sure. In fact, I may just do it.

Are Phish and Panic the only bands that Bonnaroo's given multiple nights to?

Was there in 2007 as well. Wolfmother was fantastic.

Was there for the famous MMJ set in 2008 as well.

White stripes were really great in 2007. So was Damien rice and Regina Spektor and of course, WEEN.

It’s a shame the few good bands are buried under those absolute trash headliners.

I only went the first 2 years (2002 and 2003). 2003 had some incredible sets. Two that stand out are MMJ in one of the tents, and Neil Young and Crazy Horse. That Neil Young set is to this day my favorite show I've ever seen.
