Last two albums have been mediocre but apparently they're getting back to their roots. And Guilty All The Same and Wastelands are pretty good.

I'm sure there isn't much love for them on this board but anyone picking it up?

Their last two albums have been mediocre. I'm still a fan of theirs so I really really REALLY hope this album is actually decent.

Their first album was legit. I bet I listened to that album 50 times during the summer of 2001.

Calm down, I'm sure you'll find out when you race to Target to pick it up.

From the previews on iTunes that I've listened to (which are all 1:30 long so it's not like I'm bullshitting and giving it no chance) it's the same old shite with them trying to sound like they did back in the day....and failing. Chester's voice sounds so girly nowadays because he wore it out in Hybrid Theory and Meteora. He can't scream or anything like he used to and his voice has grown terribly annoying. I can't stomach another LP record. They've disappointed me 4 times in a row including this album.

New album is pretty darn good. Much closer to Meteora.

II think they make awful selections of singles though. Until it's gone is lyrically a pile of trash and a pretty safe effort.

Keys to the kingdom, all for nothing and wastelands are pretty good.

Meteora is their best album IMO

That's not saying I don't love Hybrid Theory. With that said, I haven't bought anything of theirs since Minutes to Midnight.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

The band got rid of Rick Rubin for this record and it shows. I think Linkin Park has two great songs that were never officially released on their albums.
