Will get hate for this but anything Aerosmith did after the 70's is a pile of shite.

I consider it cheesy but fun. You can do a lot worse.

Aerosmith was certainly at their best in the 70’s, but made a lot of good music in the 80’s and 90’s as well:
Tell Me What It Takes
Cryin’
Crazy
Jaded
Love in an elevator
Rag Doll

It is pretty badass. No catshit whatsoever but there was a cheerleader who was a real young bleeder.

Nope, you're right on. That goes for several bands.

Draw The Line is a great album. Not good, great. Also, cat shite doesn't really steam. It just kind of sits there. Now dog shite, that steams.

For the most part, every band has at least a couple good ones (except U2). I never liked U2. Too political I guess.

I was in 9th grade when this song came out. Hated the merging of rap and rock back then and still think that it's lame.

And I totally agree with the posters that think that Aerosmith is a shitty band. Their music in the 80s was one of the few negatives to 80s pop culture. Mtv loved them, though.

They had some okay songs in the 70s, but all of those are just awful...

equally as awful, is Angel... but its so ironically fun to belt out in all its cheesy splendor...

In regards to the OP, I guess it was an effort for Rubin to have them cross over... it was kinda gimmicky...

Run-DMC were in their pomp then and have so many other songs that were far superior... I guess radio needed this, to give them the airplay they deserved..

Ironically, it was this song that got Aersosmith back in the public eye and helped revive their career (unfortunately)

The original WTW was great. The redo was annoying.

It was the mid 80s, how much bullshite (especially rap) aged well from that era? A rock/rap crossover was always going to happen

Just be grateful stones/zep/floyd weren't broke enough to desecrate their legacy with this sewage

Agreed. Gritty, bluesy, raw and pretty badass.

Sweet Emotion was their only good song.

Nah. It was just pop fun.

Outside of 5-7 songs from the 70s, the latter part of their career was way better. True, it's hard to top tunes like Dream On or Kings and Queens. But a lot of their 70s catalogue sounds just like generic blues-based nothingness.

The band we should be saying all this about is AC/DC

First off the remake was not Run-DMC and Aerosmith. It was Run-DMC, Steven Tyler, and Joe Perry. Don't call it Aerosmith unless Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer were also involved.

Their last good album was Permanent Vacation. I have a general mathematical rule for Aerosmith songs not on movie soundtracks. The shorter the title the worse the song. The theory is a bit shaky on two word titles (Dream On, Hangman Jury, Rag Doll, Sweet Emotion all go counter to it) but works like a charm on anything else as long as you remove that abomination of a song from the asteroid movie from the proceedings. Their albums after 1988 are loaded with one word song titles.
