Sweet Emotion was their only good song.

I'm not fond of that one.

I have a weird love/hate relationship with Aerosmith. I loved them when I was a kid in the 90s and had their Big Ones cassette tape.

The older I get the more cheesy and annoying I find their material, though. When it comes on the radio I either jam out or roll my eyes and turn it off, depending on the mood....

Enjoyed them at Jazzfest though

I like very few Aerosmith songs, this is one I detest. The remake with Run DMC was even worse, if that's possible.

I agree, I’m the same way. I lean more towards the hate side though.

Here's their best songs imo:

No more no more
Chip away the stone
Mama kin
Dream on
Draw the line
Train kept a rollin'
Sick as a dog
Back in the saddle
Toys in the attic
SOS too bad
Last child
My fist your face
Monkey on my back

The rest of their music sucks

In regards to the OP, I guess it was an effort for Rubin to have them cross over... it was kinda gimmicky...

Run-DMC were in their pomp then and have so many other songs that were far superior... I guess radio needed this, to give them the airplay they deserved..

Ironically, it was this song that got Aersosmith back in the public eye and helped revive their career (unfortunately)

Exactly. It was a cross over to put rap over into more of the mainstream.

MOst of those are the generic "blues" shite I was talking about. Outside of Last Child and Mam Kin, you can keep the rest.

Just be grateful stones/zep/floyd weren't broke enough to desecrate their legacy with this sewage

Jimmy Page waited all the way until the 90s to let Kashmir be used in rap.

I kinda liked the mix of the two...made for the MTV crowd at the time but helped Aerosmith come back from their drug-hazed days.

As far as their stuff being shite...Rocks is a great album.
