Led Zeppelin Binge

It never ceases to boggle my mind how many epic songs they created. Did they really ever record a bad song?

Their later stuff seemed to lack the freshness and energy to me. They got out of the blocks so strong. And damn Jon Bonham was such a difference maker.

Watching song remains same again tonight!

I found the box set at a used cd store several years ago. Until then, I had only heard their “big” songs.
I have to agree with you that some of their best stuff isn’t played on the radio and many people have never heard.

This opinion usually doesn't go over very well when I make it but yes--The Battle of Evermore and Going to California. The former is a harpy shrieking rejected Stevie Nicks lyrics and the latter may be the first known recording of Muzak and one of John Tesh's early influences.
I will also include Dazed and Confused for being at least five minutes two long and this is from a man with close to a hundred Grateful Dead bootlegs and probably at least ten Allman Brothers albums in his collection.

Made a sticky note to never read your posts again. You have invalidated yourself with this one. Those are probably two of my top five Zep songs.

Couldn't agree more.
I just went back through a few albums on a long drive to educate my 13 and 19 year old. I was hoping for a better reaction from them :-(
I remember when a friend introduced me to them back when I was 13. I must have listened to III & IV for 6 months straight.
Saw Zosa a few years back and would recommend them and will go see again. I thought they did a good job of recreating both the big radio hits and some of the non radio best songs

I'm not a big fan of their last two records.

It's arguable but I never liked "Hats Off To Roy Harper" or "You Shook Me". I've always been a huge fan but I never thought it was some great blasphemy to call it like it is. Those two songs kinda suck.

Two of their bluesier tunes you don't like.

Well, at least we know we can reject out of hand your opinion on anything having to do with music.

This is the opinion of most fans I would think. Although each album has a few great tunes, for the most part they're not nearly as strong as the one's that came before.

Wow going to California is top 3 song all time to me no matter the srtist. But I have to say I love the dead and they are special to me but zeppelin can carry a song and keep it up well over 8 min but the dead could also but they didn’t do it nearly aswellas zeppelin did

That being said Led Zeppelin is my favorite band and for me their best records are Led Zeppelin II and Physical Graffiti.

Carouselambra
Sounds like what would happen if you rolled IHeart bubblegum pop with Bee Gee's gibberish. . .
. . . and twisted them both up into one.

I love their blues stuff.
Since I Been
I Can't Quit You
Tea For One
In My Time Of Dying
All great songs. I just think the two I named are crap.

They don't live up to the rest of their discography but there are still great songs on those albums. Give them another chance. Presence has Tea for One, Achilles Last Stand and Royal Orleans. In Through the Out Door has Fool in the Rain, which is some of Bonham's best work.

Yes but Carouselambra has that awesome mid song progressive slow down. Love that shite.
South Bound Saurez and All of My Love suck.

They made a lucrative career of ripping off old dead, black blues men.
