Something you overlooked or missed and found out.
Mine since yesterday is 3 Feet High And Rising (1989) by De La Soul. “Me Myself and I” made the Top 40, so they had some broader exposure. Mostly, though, I was in college when they were critical darlings (maybe they still are). I knew about them, while I’m a rock and roller I’ve been somewhat open to rap/hip hop, I was hipster-adjacent so people were talking about De La Soul.
Anyway, yeah, now I have the album on repeat on Spotify.

I used to listen to that album so much during middle school.

Despite being in hs/college in the late 2000’s/early 201’s, I didn’t hear any songs by the following bands until I was in my 30’s:
Saosin
Escape the Fate
Falling in Reverse
Pierce the Veil
Funeral for a Friend

I don't remember Tokyo Blade from the 80's, however this is maybe the best hard rock album to come out last year.

Pretty Late to realize I liked Spoon. Been around since the early 90’s. Heard of them back then never cared. Such a pity!!
One of my favorite voices now.

I just heard/watched Attack Attack! and their apparently notorious-yet-influential "Stick Stickly" song for the very first time this week. I had seen the band's name pop up on a few occasions in the context of metalcore, but didn't know anything at all about them. I can now attest that it's one of the dumbest songs and videos I've ever seen.

My Valuable Hunting Knife is really good, too. A-side.

What album was your point of entry with Spoon? I’ve been on them since “Telephono.” It takes a critical bashing, but I think it’s really good. Their second LP, “A Series of Sneaks” is in my top five albums ever, and “Girls Can Tell” is in my top 100. They only have an album or two that I don’t really like, and they aren’t bad.

Someone on here posted a song from “Lucifer on the Sofa”. So it was probably early 2023.
I love that whole album

It’s the best of their last four or five, imo.

Jellyfish. Don’t know how I missed them first time around. Discovered them a few years ago.

Acid Bath. They never made it to West Kentucky. Wasn’t until they got announced for Louder Than Life last year I heard of them. Realizing they’re a bunch of baws from Houma.

They still hold up today too.

They're not too old of a band but out of Ft Worth. Quaker City Nighthawks. I guess their first release was 2011 and the last was 2019. I wish they do some new stuff.
