That was a pretty big hit for 3 dog night, way back when. It's a great song. Philosophy from the toilet.

He's great. I never knew that Sure As I'm Sitting Here was his song but I've said that about several of his tunes over the years. Memphis in the Meantime is one of his best IMO.

John Hiatt has been pretty underrated his whole career, and he has a great catalog.

Child in the wild blue, Buffalo river home, and Have a little faith in me are some of his best IMHO

John has made tons more money writing hits for others than for himself.

He played with some Louisiana Baws for a while.

Tennessee Plates

Close second to Little Village.

Sonny Landreth Breaux Bridge guitar
Ken Blevins Lake Charles drums
Dave Ranson Lafayette bass

True. I knew several John Hiatt songs long before I knew John Hiatt.

Drive South (Suzy Boggus), Have A Little Faith in Me (Delbert McClinton), Thing Called Love (Bonnie Raitt), The Tiki Bar Is Open and Window on the World (Jimmy Buffett).

I think two of my favorites from John himself are Blue Telescope and Slow Turning.

First time I have seen Sonny play anything other than a Strat. He's killing it.

That song rocks. Not sure how I missed that YouTube version all these years.
