I'm 90% sure Jackd is a good ole boy from VP. He's good folk.

So the next song has been released, "Cumberland Gap"
It too is terrible.

Both of the new ones released are hot garbage. Anyone want my red rocks tickets?

I've been listening to "Hope the High Road" for two weeks now...and I dig it...Jason makes no qualms about being "progressive"...and I've never let it sway me (as I am a conservative)...this one is no different for me....is it as high quality as some of the previous stuff?....not yet...but the first song I heard from Something More Than Free was "Speed Trap Town"...its a good cut...but not the best from that record IMHO....I'll hold out thrashing my favorite musician until I hear the whole body of work...remember...guys like Isbell and Sturgill still put out albums that wind together and tell a whole story...not just one good single and a bunch of other filler just to put it on shelves...
I'm still very excited about the tickets I have in hand for the show in St. Augustine in July

what would you consider to be the best on that album?

Looks like he just added a September 26 show at the River Center.

High Road is fine. I mean, he hints at politics and displeasure with the white populist stuff, but it's not that bad.
I like the track, content aside, better than Cumberland Gap.
I have no qualms with some political themes in any art, including lefty themes. What I don't like is when top song writers put out shitty music because they combine something they're usually good at (writing songs) with something they have no competency or depth in (political argument or reasoning). You can't take generic, shallow and dishonest arguments like those used by most entertainers and turn that into something with artistic value.
