Well I would see DBT for the 7th time if that happens.

Haven't seen them in years

Love DBT, everyone I've met in the genre has been cool except Patterson was a douche. Maybe I caught him on a bad day. Still listen in spite of that and their politics. Cooley couldn't have been more opposite and shared his Jameson.

I thought Patterson's vocals sounded rough on that performance. He seemed to be straining to hit the notes as if the song was in the wrong key for his voice. I generally like his vocals though.

They're playing on the same bill as Isbell in April in Destin.

Tedeschi/Trucks are doing two nights, one on each side of the DBT/Isbell sets.

I saw them at the Wind Jammer in Isle of Palms, SC this summer w/ Deer Tick opening. They were great. I was shocked they were playing a venue that small. About 500 people there.

I am done paying to see them live because of him.

He was a special guest for an Anders Osborne Christmas Show at Tipitina's before COVID. Would not shut up between songs yapping his head off about politics as a sit-in guest. Ruined that show and DBT for me thereafter.

Patterson Hood is more into political prosyletizing than Jason Isbell, which is saying something. He has been that way a long time though and is apparently okay with it’s affect on his pocket book. I don’t agree with his opinions but respect his resolve.

Not coincidentally, it’s bled into the quality of their music and there’s a reason they are playing small venues now.

Speaking of small venues, Amanda shires played Gasa Gasa recently. She was incredible.

I saw that Fust and Merce Lemon were coming there in April. Both great.

April in Destin.
I looked at that festival when the lineup came out, they have a weird ticketing/seating system; you have to stay in one place the whole time as you buy chairs in “pods”. Maybe it’s nice but not for me

It's a good setup, actually. Lots of room to wander around if that's your preference.
