Somehow I never heard this rendition. Pretty great cover.

For those who would like to hear the Leadbelly recording

For kicks, an acoustic version of Black Hole Sun - Man I love Cornell's voice

There are a bunch of great bands/front men from the 90’s but Pearl Jam and Vedder are right their as the best.

Yep, they were better as Mother Love Bone with the great Andrew Wood.

When PJ played in NO the Ramones opened for them.

The Ramones flat blew those clowns off the stage.

Truth. It was the weirdest crowd, too. When the Ramones were opening, the crowd on the ground was all black leather and the stands were a sea of flannel. Between bands when the roadies were setting the stage, the flannel crowd took the field and the leather crowd went up into the stands. Two wildly different fan bases just swapping spots and watching each other's band. It was kinda cool.

No, Radiohead is the best band to come out of the 90's. Modest Mouse and Built To Spill closely behind them.

I love MM and BtS but nah man

Kinda off subject but I really miss the unplugged performances. AIC is the goat followed by Nirvana. They are both amazing. I think 99% of current music couldn't handle being stripped down like that. Songs aren't composed the same and people aren't nearly as talented. They rely to much on editing and synthesizers to hide how truly awful they are. Just better marketing these days.

Maybe some old schoolers like Metallica, foo fighters, maybe avenged sevenfold could do it today and pull it off.

Lars Ulrich interviewed Jerry Cantrell a year or so ago and he talked about that unplugged. Truly great stuff

Since this thread is about Pearl Jam, don’t discount their unplugged set. Pretty awesome set. I suspect most of this board despises the group because of their political beliefs.

They did an entire acoustic show a few months ago. Turned out well. LINK

If we're strictly confining the music to the United States, then the GOAT would be (Janes Addiction)

Yeah, maybe not. Grand total of ONE album released over the whole ten years. Nine songs = no GOAT.
