Wait you really think Jack Bruce was a better bassist than Clapton was a guitarist? I'll listen to an argument that Ginger was a better drummer, but let's not be silly.

enough said- endless nonsensical jamming is the best he ever did.

Clapton is one of those artists I have gotten super sick of over my lifetime. I do agree that he is overrated.

I'm not sure how anyone could say he's overrated as a guitarist, at least when considering his work from The Yardbirds through Derek and the Dominoes. As a songwriter and vocalist after that? Absolutely.

Man he wrote and recorded a lot of great songs in his solo work

His solo work does nothing at all for me.

Tears in Heaven is good but I don't like much else outside of that.

Ah yea . "Tears in heaven". That was my favorite slow dance at our middle school dances.

That blues album, From the Cradle, he put out in the early 90's is probably the best of his solo career. Not surprisingly, it's all cover songs.

Clapton profits off covering (butchering) legendary black musicians' music
It's a shame he didn't OD back in the 70s

Everyone here must be really good guitarist, if not, opinions are very unimportant

What’s the difference between a baby and a bag of cocaine?
Eric Clapton wouldn’t let a bag of cocaine fall out of a window.
