Not even up for debate. Anybody with any sense of music knows Clapton > fricking barber.

As far as JB goes, Sorry for partying. Grew up in a family of parrotheads and still enjoy all things drinking and even more so on saltwater. It's a way of life I suppose. Not even going to pretend he's some music God or diety but it's a fun show. Probably not a popular opinion on the board - who knows, there are a lot of drunk white guys on this board so who knows. If life gives you limes then make a damn margarita.

Someone said he's overrated as a vocalist. Well, I don't think anyone's ever said he's one of the greatest singers in rock, but he has a great soulful voice. Here's a clip barely more than three minutes long of him doing that old Ray Charles song, Hard Times. Soulful singing and a short kickass guitar solo starting at the 1:30 mark (right after the David Sanborn sax solo).

I'd rather hear the original ray Charles tune. As I mentioned previously, I'm not really interested hearing Clapton butcher covers. It makes me sad and is a disgrace to Ray Charles, may he RIP.

True,

I honestly don't think the boscoes hold a candle to a Jimmy Buffet show.

I know parrotheads can't hold a candle to the ghetto lot bois and the nitrous mafia in terms of getting fricked up.

Clapton profits off covering (butchering) legendary black musicians' music It's a shame he didn't OD back in the 70s

If it was not for Clapton no one would have ever heard of Robert Johnson, or any legendary black blues musician other than the three Kings.

I'm not much on rating musicians, but I enjoy listening to Clapton.

Clapton owes his career to Duane Allman. Much like Gregg did, Clapton rode his coattails long after his death.

I've seen him twice and he is a mediocre musician at best. Very boring.

Well let's see -

First it was the Beatles stink.
Now Clapton stinks.

What icon is next?

Can't diss the Stones as someone jumped you in jest.

You're just a joke.
