Interaction between two old guitar geeks

I've been a Cheap Trick fan and a Rick Nielsen nut since I was a child. He, along with Ace, were my first guitar idols. And no one, never ever ever, will have a guitar collection with a fraction of the coolness of Uncle Rick's.
CT's show in Baton Rouge last night was their closest to me in years and likely one of their last runs ever - they have been doing it 50 years now. You wouldn't know it- they put on a HELLUVA show for any act of any age.
You know I seized the opportunity and grabbed the bull by its baseball cap ...

I wish I could have seen neilson in his prime. Dude’s flair for performance, his stage persona, was one of my big influences for how I perform on stage.

Last night was I think the fourth time I've seen them live since the early 1980s. Outside of aging and the limitations that come with it, his stage presence, mobility and antics have not changed one iota in decades.
Here's a couple other notable Hamer guitars he further relic'ed last night, courtesy of my friend Valerie (who also charged the rail haha).

I still have a RN pick from an '81 show in Memphis.

Cool story. RN is a guy that really doesn't get talked about that much, but he is one of the greats and (I think) is underrated in terms of ability and influence.

Very cool. Hope he puts it in something.
Wonder how often something like that happens to him.
Didn’t Bruce Springsteen recently have a fan build and send him an acoustic that he geeked out on? Actually got him playing and writing because he didn’t want to put it down?
Paraphrasing the story of course.

Rick Neilson was the coolest of cool back in Cheap Trick’s heyday.

Nope, two conductor lead for this one ... I've never read or seen RN in any interview over the years mention favor for coil splitting, phase reversal and/or series/parallel wiring schemes. So I did his with a traditional lead ... black pushback cloth hot inside braided shield ground.
