It's literally the reason he put out the album.

He's been playing Driver 8 and Honeysuckle Blue a lot on tour lately. I saw them in Mobile a couple of weeks ago, awesome show. I have no plans to listen to the cover album and Driver 8 is about the only REM song I can muster through.

It’s like every other Isbell album - a few standout songs, and a bunch of meh. I like the Nightswimming and Sometimes Salvation.

The worst is whichever one his wife is on. Her voice grates my last nerve.

I love Driver 8 from REM. He did an alright job with that.
It was played on Outlaw Country yesterday.

Best thing about this album was that it got me to dive back into REM's catalog and educate my kids on their less popular, early stuff. I forgot how much I really liked REM back in the day.

May have to amend this after a couple of listens to the Honeysuckle Blue cover. Sadler's voice just does not work on that song.

I’ve heard Driver 8 (REM) and Sometimes Salvation (Black Crows) on XM Outlaw Country. Thought he did a decent job with them.

Their duo singing about abortion was surprisingly decent
