I like everything on the Blind Faith album, except for that stupid jam. I liked a lot of Cream. Overall, I agree, I think he is overrated.

Other overrated, IMHO

The Yardbirds - they are just more loud than good.
The Eagles - just a pop country band
Black Sabbath - noise
Springsteen - good at the time, but the songs don't hold up.

You are entitled to your opinion, but:

Tears in Heaven - unplugged

Layla - Live

Cream - Crossroads Live

Cocaine live

Definitely disagree, his songs are timeless... I'll give you that the production value of Born in the USA fell to the polish and over production of the 1980s, but stripped to their core, the songs are still solid...

Terrible. Maybe Billy Ocean was more overrated, but it's close.

Well, no one is propping up Billy Ocean now. He was a moment in time. Like Huey Lewis being popular for some odd reason.

I don't know, I think so many people slag on Clapton that he is veering toward "so overrated he's actually underrated" territory. He's like the "Titanic" of rock rock stars. But really, for Clapton, just throw out everything made after 1978 or so.

And I maintain the best thing he ever did is the Bean-O album with John Mayall.

It should not. I'm sure you hate plenty of things I listen to. It's just the way it is. For the most part, if it's blues, I'm not going to like it. I have heard Clapton say he goes out of his way to incorporate blues into songs no matter what. that just sucks. IMHO, YMMV...

Your taste appears to be in your mouth, but to each their own I guess.

I'll bite...

I just don't get Radiohead.

I enjoy a few of their songs from The Bends and OK Computer. Kid A is supposed to be the greatest albums of the 2000s but its just soft computer noise with Thom Yorke sounding like he's giving birth in the background. There's no substance to it at all. That's just me though, I'm sure.

David Lowery of Camper van Beethoven and Cracker eviscerated OK Computer once by comparing it to Tales From Topographic Oceans. It was awesome.

I loved the Bends, though.

eric clapton is a great guitarist but mediocre song writer.

I think his kid dying was probably the best thing that could have happened to his solo career. I know that is rather macabre, but I do believe that is true.
