I just don't get Radiohead.
I enjoy a few of their songs from The Bends and OK Computer. Kid A is supposed to be the greatest albums of the 2000s but its just soft computer noise with Thom Yorke sounding like he's giving birth in the background. There's no substance to it at all. That's just me though, I'm sure.
I don't get:
Radiohead
Widespread Panic
Tool
There are a few others.
On the Eric Clapton front, I can't even call him overrated because I've never even heard anybody say they were into him. Never in my life have I heard uttered the words "Oh yeah, I'm really big into Eric Clapton".

Then you don't know many accomplished guitarists honestly. Those guys talk about Clapton with a reverence like never before seen

I've heard people talk about his guitar chops. I've just never heard anybody talk about being into his music. In fact, I've heard people talk about how his guitar chops prevent him from making good music (e.g. "yeah man it's like he overplays every song")

But, to be clear, I don't.

Csb, but a couple years ago I read a Rolling Stone article about Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, who a lot of folks consider to be an amazing guitarist. At least when it comes to Texas blues
He said he carries a business like card around in his wallet that says "Billy Gibbons - personal friend of Eric Clapton"
Some people think Clapton is an actual god

nobody should crucify anyone for their music tastes. it's all about what you like. i may not agree with them, but i would never crucify someone.
i agree with the not getting radiohead sentiment on here, but I haven't seen them live. IMO, you have to see an artist live before you can begin to more fully understand them/respect them.

And to give Duane full credit for Layla is absolutely ignorant and idiotic.
I wasn't giving Duane full credit on the album. I was just talking about the parts that didn't suck.

quote: Most overrated in all of music
That title belongs to the Beatles
Well, seeing as they are the most highly "rated" or regarded band of all time, naturally they'd be considered to be "overrated" by many.
Whenever there's a list of "favorites" and "overrated", quite often you have the same folks on top of each list.
