I love pomegranites, but they are work to eat.

The best thing I have found to do with them is to eat them on a salad, or in cottage cheese or yogurt. They are rather tart, so eating them with something is a must for most people.

I have also found that if you take all the seeds out at once, its much easier. Takes me about 2 mins to do but we eat a pomemgranite a week during season.

Yeah...I read somewhere a few months back they were hoping for an NC-17. They plan on putting that version out on Blu-Ray/DVD.

in that case, I will wait for the nc-17 version. Why watch the R when you can wait and watch nc-17. More tits, more gore, more everything good about movies.
I would really like an HD version of Frisky Dingo.

I hope it's better than the original, because that one sucks IMO (at least it does watching it in 2012 for the first time).

the original one was awesome. The 2nd was better done, and basically restarts it.

not that i give a shite about blake shelton either, but that's disappointing. the new country/pop crap sucks balls for the most part

I hated country until i discovered the classics. that shite from the 50, 60s and 70s was good music. The stuff now, might as well listen to miley cyrus or justin beiber. just fricking awful.

i find that all mel brooks movies are like this. They start out great, then by the final act they are just annoying.

Blazing saddles and history of the world pop to mind as particularly bad.

its good but you can tell its low budget. Worth watching IMHO
IMDB says 90-91, which sounds right. i know I was in HS. No way I would have had time to watch it frosh year.

Seems like Hollywood would've had this one out there by now.

yeah, he is the biggest super hero I can think of without a movie.

I was a huge flash fan growing up.

He did a tv show in the 80s, which was pretty terrible.

Supposedly one is in the work.

Because Office Space.

office space is funny but the movie has a resonance to it b.c of how much it accurately portrays our work lives. The actual lines it in aren't that funny, they are funny b.c you realize your boss is talking to you about doing pointless shite.

Its great, don't get me wrong but its funny b.c its true more so than just being funny like a fish called wanda

O brother where art thou would certainly deserve a mention as would big lebowski.

dude, have you even looked at Mark Hammill's resume? he has done over 40 things since 2010 alone. Most are voices, but i have read actors say doing voices is easily harder that acting on screen.

i consider them two different things.

theaters that serve meals, alcohol, etc

For people that have been to these (I Have not), ever had any trouble with someone being hammered?

I have only been a few times but that didn't seem to be an issue. Its not like its a bar where you have a bar tender right there to order shots from.

I guess its conceivable but the booze is not cheap.

I think they may be more worried about cannibalization of movie sales. It's not like they can do a head count before showing the movie at someone's home so they probably have to target an average audience size. The experimentation they've done has been around the $60 price point IIRC. That price may be fine for a family or a group of friends, but why would a couple or a single person pay that much of a premium for home viewing?

Well they can do a head count, there are webcams and software that can count how many people are in a room. So they could figure that out.

And they are not thinking outside the box for business models either. yes, you will get lower attendence in the theater but if priced appropriately, you get a larger audience plus fewer people to share the pie with. you could also do subscriptions, i.e. one new movie a month for $X but you have to buy a year.

I really think the bigger worry is piracy. once you stream it, its going to get ripped and posted online.
I guess it depends on when its set. If its 20 years out, then its an issue. if its 40 years out, then no issue.

We will just have to wait and see.
quote:

If anything, that part of the movie experience will only get worse over time. We're becoming a less polite society and there's little that can be done to combat that trend.

I am not sure that is the issue. I think the issue is the rise of mobile phones, which makes it easy to get distracted during movies and much of the problem comes from mobile phones. talking in movies and babies have been an issue since I was a kid.
quote:

However I believe movies, as a date night, will continue to provide a big enough draw that theaters will have a place in the market for years to come.

me too.

But I would love a model for home viewing of new releases. I think piracy is probably the bigger hurdle at the moment, how can you deliver it without someone stealing the stream/recording it and then posting it.

They could easily impelement a webcam model on a roku to count number of people watching and charge accordingly.

I liked all the ironic moments in the movie.

it had its charms but left me feeling like I ate bad sushi or something. Just didn't sit right.

Woody Harrlson (sp?) and Sam Rockwell were really good in it.

Most of the cast was great. I looked at it, and saw sam rockwell, woddy, and walken and thought - how could this movie not be good? Plus I really like In Bruges. I wasn't too excited about farrell but you know he isn't that bad. He actually did a decent job IMHO.

seven psychopaths was just meh

It had so much promise. Great cast, decent story idea, pretty good dialog.

But I left it watching it feeling that is just kinda sucked.

The only thing I can think on why it was just meh is that of the psychopaths, 3 of them were in the killing of other criminal business. i guess it was to make them a little more acceptable as characters, but it just didn't seem to fit with the psychopath theme.

What say the movie board?
quote:

Well, that's actually better that he's older (I kind of wish he was older than he is now actually since he hasn't aged badly at all). Hamill should be merely a supporting role and mentor figure. The movie shouldn't be about him if you know what I'm saying.

I think he looks like shite, at least compared to my parents who are older than he is. I doubt its about Luke though. I guess they could have him as a yoda like character.
quote:

Why should they recast? Its only been 30 years since the last one. It seems near the perfect age to have them reappear again, or at least Luke. I'm against Leia and Han appearing, but pro-Luke.

Well harrison is the only one who still regularly acts. Fisher looks like jabba the hut, and hamil hasn't aged well imho.

I think recasting makes so much sense, in that you could pick up actors/actresses that are actually good, and would fit the roles.

If its a cameo, sure, no problem if they re-appear but I personally would try to recast.

There have been numerous instances of sequels having different actors/actresses for the same characters. I know star wars fanboys think its different but its not.
quote:

They have stated the old crew will be signed on for the new movies but I would think they will be limited. I could see Luke with an Obi-Wan type role though.

I read last week where it said no hamil but luke is in it.

I doubt they have much of a script at this point, and I seriously doubt either star has a major role.

But i like fisher playing jabba's son, hell bent on revenge.
quote:

I gained hope when JJ got involved but if they continue the story with Hamil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, it will be a
complete abomination.

There is no way hamil or fisher is involved.

Hamil is 61, there is no way he could play a 40 year old skywalker. He is an old 61 too.

carrie fisher looks more like jabba than leia now. Again, no way she is involved.

And frick harrison ford is really really really old, plus he would cost a fortune.

My guess is that they recast those characters if they appear. My guess is luke and leia re-appear, han solo is more hit or miss. r2 and c3p0 are all shoeins to reappear.

the movie was downright awful. Full of cliches, bad acting and a terrible completely unbelievable hole ridden plot.

Turrible.

In fact, the wife and I decided to watch it one night after we were amped from going clubbing. We stopped it in the middle as the xanax kicked in. We decided to try to watch the rest a month or so later in the same scenario, couldn't finish it. Finally we finished it when we were bored and wanted to kill 30 mins before bed.

frick atrocious film.
