I like 3 Doors Down. I'm prepared for the "3 Doors Down sucks" and the "You like shitty music" comments, but that won't really bother me.

I suppose I don't feel as strongly as you do about them being shite. I mean I'd say they're somewhere between matchbox 20 and creed.

But to each their own.

the reason they are famous is because they were terrible. Rumor is they were signed as a bet between two music exec's that one told the other he could make anyone famous.

They were the epitome of the early 2000's pop rock and what clear channel shoved down everyone's throats. I'll admit that I liked them in high school but I can't stand them now.

I don't find anything offensive about them, they're just not that good. But there tons of those bands, most of which I'd listen to before a lot of the synth garbage I have to endure now.

Didn't one of the guys kill someone while driving drunk?

I never really listened to them enough to form an opinion. That Superman song was run into the ground though, and I cringe anytime I hear it now.

So terrible that they've only sold 20m albums, worldwide?

or that they only had two multi-platinum albums and one platinum album?

If that's terrible, I'll have some please.

Yeah, because how popular an artist is is in direct correlation with how good they are.

They were not nearly as bad as your grammar.

So terrible that my neighbor, on a Thursday night, walked over to ask what I was up to. Three Doors Down were in town and he was a native of Moss Point, MS also. He told me to get dressed and that he got us a spot on the Three Doors Down tour bus. I played video games until 3 a.m. at my apartment instead.

He could not understand why in the world I would decline the offer and how stupid I was. He said these were friends of his from back in the day. The only thing I asked him that might have made him wise up was that what band wants dudes -- especially dudes they do not know -- on a tour bus. I also reminded him how badly I hated the song "Kryptonite".

And to the OP, you should have started this thread with "How awesome was Three Doors Down!!!!???" and you would have captured the baited audience you had in mind.

I've never purchased any music by them. Nor have I seen them in concert. But I think they wrote some catchy radio-friendly rock songs. And there's a place in a distant corner of my life for stuff like that.

But what do I know? I'm just a 40 year old with a wife, kid, and two dogs, who's tried to retire from hating shite that doesn't matter.

They weren't even good at being terrible. They weren't actively bad enough.... Just boring. Bland.
