How do you choose your guitar picks?

Mine have to match the headstock because tone is in the fingers.

By flexibility. Various options of thin for guitar and thick for bass.

Put it in your fingers and play. If you play good keep it.

Get you a nice hand towel, one of those microfibers, and wipe all that damn dust and grime off those instruments.
I finally found a pick I am really happy with and damnit if the damn things aren't expensive. Like $3 a piece, not a pack. WTF? Why would a little piece of plastic be expensive? Sucks.

BRAAAAH!!!! I have never seen another one, ever, in any color, until this post and you have TWO!
I recently put the Gilmore EMG strat pickups in mine.
Edit- I also brilllo'd down the neck to make it more satin. It definitely plays faster now but I think I need to give it a once more.
Edit again- I also had to make a little more room in the jack cavity for the cable to fully seat without an act of Congress.

That epiphone strat clone was my first guitar. Red with red headstock as well.

They came in 7 colors!
I picked mine up for next to nothing and they are both good players.
Previous owner added gold locking tuners on one of them. Looks kind of odd, but it doesn't bother me enough to change them.

Just what feels right. I think I finally found the ones I will stick with for a while. For years I played with traditional Jazz III's, then Petrucci Jazz III's, and now AttakPick Stealth XL. They're 2.0mm and a bit larger than a regular Jazz.

I'm a fan of whatever feels good
Tried many things - Gator Grip, Tortex, Jazz, CoolGrip, huge plectrum
Eventually realized I like smaller picks with good grip and have been used DavaGrips for last ~7 years. Expensive as hell, but I lose picks a lot less because they stay in my hand and on the guitar.

I find that they choose me.
I can buy a full pack and within a week I will have 1-2 survive and become part of my random and eclectic selection. I can find a honey hole like under the couch, but always regress to having 4-8 available and always different types.
I tend to prefer a fairly firm pick with a slight texture like the tortex but it really just depends on the day and how I’m playing. I crack the thin ones fairly quick. I do like the smaller jazz ones.

Yellow Dunlop Tortex 73mm is my favorite. I prefer a thicker/harder pick. When I play acoustic I usually finger pic or use a lighter pick if I'm strumming. I don't play with the point of a pick, I use the rounded corner.

After I bought a nice dreadought I bought an expensive pick to play it just because. $30 for one lol.

My go-to are Herco Flex 75 Holy Grails. A repair client gave me one years ago and I was an immediate convert. I love the thickness, the grip, the flex, the tone, the durability, everything about them.

When I discovered the Blue Chip years ago it ruined me for anything else. I play Mando and acoustic Guitar mostly.
