Gotta love him. IMO greatest country music writer of all time. And a very good musician.

GOAT. Hands down, my favorite of all time. If I made a playlist of my top 100 songs, at least 40 would be Merle songs.

Most of my life, I've almost been a winner.
I've come so close but never really won.
Just when I thought I finally made it,
I found myself back where I started from.
I hate to say I'm giving up but I believe,
Losin's just become a way of life for me.
Losin' wouldn't be so bad at all,

I listen to Merle Haggard "iheart radio" at least 3 days a week at work. Get a good mix of him, patsy cline and other classics

My dad is coming in from Dallas (visited me once at LSU and this will be his first time to visit me in NOLA) and I told him to come in that weekend. Surprising him with ticket to the show.
He's been jealous of me ever since I saw Merle open for Bob Dylan about 9 years ago when I was in high school. I'm pumped, love Hags.
