The only rap show I’ve attended was Ying Yang Twins at Groovin on The Grounds and it was horrible.

Beastie Boys at UNO was awesome.
But the best show was Chistmas night in the 80s in New Orleans at the Mahalia Jackson Theater, with Public Enemy, Ice T, and NWA, and a bunch of other rap acts. Ended with someone shooting off fireworks and everyone running for the exits because they thought it was gunfire. Eazy Mutha Fukin E!

Wu tang- they all did individual sets then formed like voltron and did a group set. Sick.
Rtj- saw them twice, once low key at spanish moon and once at the joy. Different but excellent both times.
J5- saw them numerous times when i lived in humboldt and they always came with a super high energy show
Common- this was almost 20 years ago, but saw common a few times with a live band and it was great.
Talib kweli- seen him like 10 times and majority of the times it was awesome, there were a few clunkers in there with shitty sound (sugar mill) though
The roots- probably the best live hip hop act
Mr lif- probably my personal favorite performer, weird voice that some people dont dig, but ive always loved his live show.

Most of the ones I’ve seen have been pretty good:
Run DMC / Beastie Boys
Ice-T and Body Count with Exodus opening was epic.
Ice Cube at Lollapalooza (and Ice-T & Body Count year before)
Public Enemy
Beastie Boys with Rollins Band opening
House Of Pain with Rage opening
A few others but those were all pretty good or great.

Eminem at Voodoo a few years back was an excellent show. Wyclef Jean is also a beast.
I guess you could call Hollywood Undead rap too. They’re an extremely fun live show and one of my guilty pleasures.

Digital Underground was fantastic. Other than that, I don't recall liking any others. They all play a portion of a song, talk some shite then move on to play a portion of another song. Rinse-Repe Rinse-Rep Rinse- Re

Digable Planets at the Masquerade and Georgia Theater
Kool Keith also at Masquerade - He threw raw chicken out to the crowd and I bumrushed the stage, got chased, and made it safely back to my original standing room for the rest of the show
BBs and RunDMC at Garrett Coliseum
NWA and maybe Kool Moe D and others was fantastic
Pharcyde at Belly-Up in Aspen a few years back was very white

Pusha T
A$AP Rocky
Childish Gambino
Black Star
Wu-Tang
RTJ
Chiddy Bang
Lupe Fiasco
Nas
Action Bronson
All put on great live shows when I saw them (ranked in order of how great of shows they were). Kendrick in '13 was not great (sounded fine but was just all over the place starting and stopping songs, etc..) but my gf saw him again in '16 and said it was amazing - I think he's tightened up his sets. Also saw Kanye and production/sound-wise he was great but his ego definitely took away from the experience.

I forgot i saw kanye on the glow in the dark tour with nerd, rihanna and lupe. That show was amazing, kanye had an orchestra under the stage and his stage production was unmatched.

I saw him at Roo and it was a lot of fun but his mid-show ramblings and 18 minute rendition of "God's Plan" really detracted from the energy of the show for me.

Saw Snoop Dogg open for RHCP in 2004. It was entertaining but nothing I would go out my way to see.

Nas. House of Blues. 2002. One of the best overall shows I have ever seen.

Matisyahu had Dub Trio backing him up for several years. Those guys are fricking amazing live.

Ice Cube opening for Korn in 1998 was pretty good.

Best one I saw was probably Beastie Boys at Bonnaroo. Live hip-hop is turrible
