You won't be coming out that bad, after you burn the guitar for firewood.
I hope it's good enough to get you interested in a real guitar though.

I'm a Fender fan, but their acoustic stuff sux.
I guess I could have been more diplomatic though, in giving my opinion.
Fender should drop doing acoustic stuff altogether and just let the Guild or Gretsch divisions take care of that, but I guess there's some kind of corporate ego thing going on.

OK, Jackass.

And that's the thought, if I get interested in it, I'll buy a better guitar.

..or this Fender will be so bad, that you will lose all interest. That's really most likely.
I've got Fender electric guitars all around my house, their acoustic stuff is bad though, until you get up to the Paramount stuff, and that is only Ok compared to everything else.

You keep using that word, but you're the one who spent 100 bucks on a new Fender acoustic guitar.
Like I said before, at least you get the other stuff.

Although I do agree there's no need to be too harsh. And some of the posts in this thread can seem a little guitar snobby (and some are). But there was some consistent recommendations to not just go for a cheap option, go to a local shop and try a few, etc.. I know nothing about the guitar you got. Did you try it out first?

I just know I started in middle school with a cheap piece of garbage and then kept buying garbage with the little birthday money I could save as a kid. Not until I was an adult did I spend a bit more and even though I have way less time, I play way more. I enjoy playing the guitars I have.

Same here man, and if we had internet and cable back then, I probably never would have started even learning to play.
Lucky that piece of crap was the only evening entertainment I had, besides Gunsmoke, All In The Family, and Sanford & Son reruns.
Honestly, I wish that everyone's first guitar can be a really good one, so that the sound and feel of it might steal them away from all the other things going on for a little while.

You can get a pretty good one for 400ish.
I gave the suggestion on the 1st page of this thread for the Epiphone Hummingbird. I stand by that suggestion. Epiphone is knocking it out of the park lately with the quality of their midrange( $400- $1100) guitars, and the Hummingbird is gorgeous. Keep it nice and playing right, people will always be offering to buy it from you. You won't sell it though, because you will love it.
Also, I apologize to you for trying too much to be a comedian. I often forget that people on here don't really know me, or have any context like they do in person.
If you knew me, I would put a fantastic guitar in your hands, and we would figure out a way for you to own it, which would probably include putting in a bunch of fence posts

I don't need your help to get a fantastic guitar. If I decide I want a fantastic guitar I have the money to go buy one.

Putting in fence posts??? Excuse me??

We probably need more of them honestly, get this place rockin, I wouldn't have to keep a window open on the Squier talk forum when I'm bored.

Man, you know.. I've got this Chinese Zuwei in my lap. It keeps sounding better. Whoever built this thing wasn't playing around. Him, or her really love building guitars. It's really incredible. This week, I'm going to take this thing to an acoustic bluegrass jam, everything else there will be Gibsons and Martins. I think it will hold it's own.
They gonna talk bad about me after I leave though.
