Buddy of mine just texted me that he's in hospice care.
I don't think I'm going to deal with this one very well.

TMZ had Eric Clapton at LAX in a wheelchair looking very old and frail the other day. That ones gonna give me the redass.
I'm afraid it will happen in a wave too.

Surely would be nice to see he, Dickey and Jaimoe do one last show together before they check out...but it's not looking like that will ever happen. It's a shame all the old dogs are dying off.

And it's not that Keith has made it his mission in life to do this. He probably DGAF. It's just who he is.

According to this board, Eric Clapton is the all time overrated guitarist.

Back when the documentary The Drug Years came out around 06, there was a segment that got into some of the heavier drugs like heroin and the like that eased into the mainstream.
With the theme in mind, they showed an old interview of some snarky British reporter asking Richards if he knew that he - along with Lou Reed - was the consensus choice as to the rock star most likely to die of a drug overdose. The reporter presented his question very prick-like, and you could see in Richard's eyes that he was very turned off, even hurt, by the topic. He even said "now you are just being rude" as the reporter just sort of mocked him.
He seemed like he was just one of those tough post-war cats from England that fell into rock and roll, embraced the lifestyle and the perks of it..not a corner junky type, more of a guy that accepted the occupational hazard.
I'm sure he has set his sights on living to a 100 or so now with the same addictive personality that fueled his habits years ago.

And you never hear of Richards having any "intermittent" health issues that would forecast his demise. Relatively speaking, he looks good to go at this point and how can you bet against his longevity.
