I wonder if they'll give any royalties to the TikTok Skateboard Dude?
I'm not sure why that video is as popular as it is. Just some older fellow skate boarding drinking cranberry juice to Fleetwood Mac.

Who knows why anything goes viral? I like that Mick Fleetwood immediately copied it, skateboard (or something like it) and all.
Even Stevie Nicks got into the act, lacing up skates as she sings to her own song. Twitter link

I was 10 when Rumours came out and it was played everywhere you went.
It’s not my favorite song in the world by any stretch, but whenever I hear Dreams it takes me back to being 10 again, hearing the song in a small town Pizza Hut jukebox. Makes me smile.

It probably doesn't take many sales to crack the top 10 these days.
But hopefully this will expose some younger people to what might be the first decent music that they've heard in their lives.

Ocean Spray surprised skateboard guy with a brand new F150. He’s living in a trailer park in Idaho I think.

That's the best explanation I've ever heard to explain why anyone might like listening to Fleetwood Mac.
But there's a whole lot of crap from the 80's and 90's that I only like because it reminds me of being a kid.

Song Exploder podcast has an episode with Lindsey Buckingham breaking down how he wrote and the band recorded "Go Your Own Way".
It is incredibly good. If you are even a mild fan, it is well worth the 22 minutes to listen.

I hate this shite. It's like what pre war people said about Elvis and rock n roll when it came out.

I was in my mid 20s when popular music in every genre seemed to take a drastic drop in quality. That was over 20 years ago. Has nothing to do with being a "things were so much better back in my day.
I'd challenge anyone to try to make an argument that music wasn't much better in every genre in the 20th century than it has been in the 21st.

Last weekend, we had young people coming up to us at our show asking if we could play Dreams. Luckily, it has always been in our setlist. People got into it way more than they have in the past.
And, of course we had the Ocean Spray on stage.
You know there is an accountant in some office somewhere pulling up sales numbers for the last month and wondering why in the heck cranberry juice sales have gone through the roof.

I have this theory that young people are honestly searching for good music and since they can't find it on radio, they have to "discover" it in strange places.

Eh, there was some really good stuff in the first decade of the 21st. Not so much since, though a very occasional diamond will show up in the rough.

I started tuning out contemporary music in the late 90s, so I must have missed it. When I think of the first decade of the 2000s, I think of horrible crap like Nu Metal, boy bands still being a thing, and Emo.

I wasn’t referencing the popular stuff, more the indie type stuff.
