First single I bought: Queen, “Another One Bites the Dust,” with birthday money at a Radio Shack, age 6.
First album given to me was Thriller, as a Christmas gift after its November release, if memory serves.
First album I bought with money I earned by working was Metallica’s black album at age 15.
First album I bought my child was Taylor Swift’s 1989.

I bought something so stupid I'm ashamed to say. And I don't believe all y'all who say yours was something cool.

Will never forget my first 2 bought on the same day in late 1976, cover art being a big factor:

Bought it when it came out at the Albertsons in Lafayette (1979). I had heard Train in Vain on the radio and liked it.

Bravo, sir. I, too, am an esteemed gentlemen of discerning taste and still bump both those records out in the garage from time to time.
