I remember catching Soulhat at the Varsity ~92 and out comes the band. This old fat man in a muscle shirt comes out and I'm thinking to myself, "this should be good."
How little did I know that old fat man would end up being a monster behind the kit and inspired me for years with my playing.

Portnoy is the drummer for Dream Theater and also served as the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold on their new album after their drummer died
