This is easily the best thing he's done post-hiatus and up with his best stuff ever. Some of the flow switching and speed is incredible.

I agree that it’s the best he’s put out in a long time but I’m not understanding the hype here.

I’d give it like a 6/10 ish. Slightly above average but nothing I’ll be excited to listen to over and over again.

It's hard for me to really go into my differences bc I'm not sure I fully understand why we disagree, but my overall thoughts:

First, this album actually has a unifying theme. He's clearly responding to the people who thought Revival sucked. He admits as much and the album has more force because he uses the failure as showing something to prove.

Lyrically, his wordplay is as good as it's ever been. Flow-wise, it's very inventive. From mimicking Lil Pump's flow while dissing him to using multiple styles on the same beat. He raps fast, but it isn't just to show off.

Sonically, he ditched the poppy sound with a female singer doing half the hooks. That killed a lot of Revival. The beats fit the overall theme of the album, this is a real rap album made by someone who wants to show he is still a great rapper. He uses some updated beats and shows you can blend a modern beat with real rap.

Just my thoughts on why I think it's up there with his best. He can't still make the mad at his mom and wife music. Fighting back from the Revival disaster gives him the direction he's missing since that early stuff about his family and personal demons.

“The closest thing he’s come to hits is smacking bitches.”

He went for Joe Budden’s throat with that line

It's actually not bad. There are a few too many generic "you're old" lines for me, but most of it is pretty good.

I'd wait to see if/how Eminem responds before I say anything like destroyed, though.

Eminem will come back and it will probably be about MGK is a nobody and how he hasn't accomplished shite to Eminem.

MGK nailed his diss, it was really well done. I don't think Eminem's will be as good.

The song is generic, but he makes a few good points. Talking about his age and clothes is stupid. Eminem is kind of a bully and will see how he reacts to the 1st time someone really calls him out. I bet he is fuming right now.

Kelly's diss is legit some of his best work.

But it had no depth, and in a diss track you aren't supposed to praise the guy you are going after, talkin about how eminem has an oscar, is rich and famous, is a legend, and is in everyone's top ten list, etc. There's more too.

Diss track 101, don't give props to your target. The problem with going after eminem is lyrically he's among the best. At least Kelly had the balls to do it.

ICP did it better honestly, and that's crazy to think about. They let loose on Eminem and Dre.

RIP MGK though

I actually think MGK might do ok here. His diss was solid and mostly outperformed expectations. It had a couple corny and generic lines but some good stuff too.

Everyone expects Eminem to end his career. MGK already met or exceeded expectations and expectations are so high for Eminem's response. It's hard to make a truly devastating diss track.

If Em put out something the quality of MGK's track, people would be disappointed. I think MGK may be fine just based off expectations. I will give MGK props for stepping up to someone that very few people have had the guts to attack directly.

Lol, nope.

He did fine but the reprocussions are going to be nasty

Eminem knows what he's doing. He put out a subpar album that was marketed to death and so he went and picked beefs and dropped a surprise album with no announcement.

He also realized what the Trump freestyle did (shrunk his fanbase to thirds) and rethinks that, hitting it from another angle and taking away that "line in the Sand" he drew

MGK hits back in less than 3 days which makes Eminem more relevant than MGK tries to say in his diss. That gave him life and at the same time proved he's still relevant and at the same time has everyone watching his next move.

The inevitable MGK destruction track upcoming (with video and all) is going to get 100s of millions of views in no time

He picked a bad time to poke MM with a stick. the last decade of pop trash has really hurt his legacy with real rap fans and clearly knows it

Itll be interesting to see who else feels froggy after seeing MGKs arse be the recipient of em's foot here soon
