Diss track 101, don't give props to your target. The problem with going after eminem is lyrically he's among the best. At least Kelly had the balls to do it.

I disagree

Ok, so next time I want to diss someone I'll just praise them repeatedly, especially in the chorus, because that makes sense

You dropped the phrase "diss track 101" as if you know what you're talking about.

And, yes, using a compliment to set up a diss absolutely can work. It's about preserving the credibility of the messenger. It's a rhetorical technique, and in a diss track that's all you've got at your disposal. Get creative and have a ball.

And do kindly refrain going forward from using me as your strawman. I never said anything about using it in a chorus or using it frequently. I responded to your silly blanket statement and pointed out that it was silliness (and it was also condescending).

But other than that, you nailed it.

I mean, it was calculated to make em look like a super petty, rich, out of touch malcontent. and to a degree it was effective. I thought that was pretty obvious

It wasn't an epic diss track by any means, but it wasn't terrible.

It puts Em in a tricky position. His handlers are saying he's going to respond, but I'm not sure he should.

I don't think he should but apparently its in the works. id much rather see him focus on castrating budden

I haven't gotten to listen to all of it, but Joyner Lucas is one of my favorite rappers currently, and that track they did was nuts.

I actually like Joyners flow better on that track, but they both killed it.

I like Joyner Lucas a lot, and he's one of the few guys with an acrobatic enough flow to push Eminem. I feel like they both pushed each other on that track.

MGK relies more on his faux gangster persona than he does on raw talent.
