Arguably the best trio of female singers in history. I know music is highly subjective, but there isn't anyone today for me who holds a candle to any of them.

It's frustrating to me that Mariah's career has been all but forgotten and all the majority of people seem to know is one Christmas song.

Had several Mariah videos pop up on a YouTube mix tonight, and it just feels like she should have had a more lasting impact with her career.

What? Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Patsy Cline, Dusty Springfield, Joni Mitchell? I'll give you Whitney Houston. And that doesn't even get into the opera singers like Maria Callas and Joan Sutherland.

Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin.

Was really thinking more in the realm of standards and pop with this.

Really enjoy Lisette Oropesa among today's opera elite. It helps that she's a Tiger, I'm sure, but I got to hear her perform live in Baton Rouge a few months ago, and she's incredible.

For me, it's Etta James, Gladys Knight and Alecia Keyes.

It's a shame how Whitney Houston's life ended up. She was exceptionally talented amongst a crowded field.

Breast cancer took her at age 36. She would have been right there with the best female singers ever if that didn’t happen. Minnie Riperton. She was one of the FEW singers who could properly phrase while singing in the whistle register. On this video, listen and marvel from the 2:53 to the 3:19 mark. Yes, she HELD that note and could have held it longer if needed!

Yeah, she had a cool soft voice. Seemed you almost see her smiling while she was singing and it was just on AM radio.

Does anyone even Linda Ronstadt? My god, this woman could sing any genre and excel at it.

If I'm making my list, it is Billie Holiday, Eta James and Norah Jones.
