I bet you won't you get it right without googling so I'll leave this open for guesses.
edited to include the epic accompanying music video if you just want to see the answer.
blind youtube link but worth clicking

Without google, my guess is, Theme From a Summer Place. Was listening to XM yesterday and it apparently stayed number 1 in the 60s for a long time.

I googled. I was wrong, but close.

I would think it might be either a classical composer or maybe a John Williams arrangement but I know that I would be wrong

John Williams would be a good guess. The Star Wars soundtrack sold a ton, plus he had compilation albums. Something from Star Wars wouldn't shock me at all.
I could also see it being something like an instrumental song on a hugely popular otherwise non-instrumental album. Kenny G had a few songs on The Bodyguard soundtrack which is one of the biggest selling albums of all time, hence my Kenny G guess.
Or it might be something classical that has a second life like Also Sprach Zarathrustra (AKA the 2001: A Space Odyssey theme) or Canon in D (AKA the wedding processional).

Is The Hustle considered an instrumental? Pick Up The Pieces by Average White Band was a pretty big hit.

Jessica by The Allman Brothers Band
