Only if you are seeing shitty bands that play the same setlist every night.

Some of the greatest bands in the history of the world play the same set list every night.

And most only play 1 night in a city.

The Rolling Stones play virtually the same set list every night, with minor variations.

Blink 182 same

Red Hot Chili Peppers play basically the same songs every night. Different orders, mix in a few different ones.

These are three I found in 5 minutes that are currently touring.

I spent 5 minutes looking at bands currently on tour.

I saw the Eagles last year. They played the same set list every night.

Every band is not a jam band. Vastly more bands play the same (or close to same) set list every night than those that don’t.

I’m not sure that’s even arguable.

Only multi night runs I’ve ever done are Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic and Govt Mule, all over twenty years ago.
I have still have ticket stubs for 6 Grateful Dead shows in a row in four different venues. We did Deer creek through Washington DC in Summer 1991. yea I’m old lol

It amazing that JRAD and Dead Co play the same songs but it two entirely different styles of music!

Cant argue that as JRAD's pace of these songs, for the most part, is where they need to be played at.

Last time Wilco played the Civic in 2022, they played two nights and only repeated one song. I went both nights. They've played four night runs with no (or maybe a few) repeats.

so to bring the thread topic back around, went to back to back JRAD shows this weekend, two cities, two venues, two completely different shows with radically different moods and vibes.

Friday in vail was a rocker, high energy and very happy like a revival tent. Last night at red rocks was jazzy, deep, heavy and trippy. Both were among the best shows I’ve seen.

So find a band you like that cares enough about the audience to mix things up and you can have an experience like that

I never knew this was a thing until recently. I've been going to concerts and live shows my whole life and never felt the urge to go see the same artist multiple nights in a row.

I have no issue with it, just never realized people did this.

First question that popped into my head is "how do you afford it?"
Ticket prices have gotten crazy the last few years.

Went to see Brent Cobb recently. Very good show, His setlists online show that he plays pretty much the same set every night. Videos show that he often tells the same jokes and stories.

I noticed that a fan posted on Facebook that they were going to see the show in Shreveport plus two more in East Texas over the course of a long weekend. They must really love Brent Cobb.

My brother-in-law does this all the time for Umphrey's McGee.

No idea if I spelled that right. I know nothing about them.
