My favorite band when I was 13 was AC/DC after hearing the Back in Black album when it first came out.

By 1983 my favorite band was Motley Crue after first getting the Shout At The Devil cassette giving to me.

After High School in 1985 Van Halen and Led Zeppilin became my favorites.

Elo, Alan Parsons, Pink Floyd and Billy Joel are the first bands I remember really loving

My favorite bands when I was 13 (1977) were KISS, Queen, The Raspberries and Bowie.
Was a KISS and Queen fan since ‘75. Heard The Raspberries about the same time. Heard Bowie a little earlier.
Still listen to some KISS, still a huge Queen and Power Pop fan. Bowie is okay, but don’t listen too much.

Supertramp. Was turned onto Paris, which was a recorded live show. It was basically all of their hits, and I picked up the sheet music from that album. Loved listening to it and learning the music, and then delved into their album collection.

Forgot about Billy Joel. I would never say he was my favorite (I actually just bought my first Billy Joel album recently) but seems like my parents only had two cassettes in the car- Charlie Daniels "Super Hits" and a live Billy Joel album- and I loved both of them. Big Shot and Uneasy Rider in particular.

When I was 13, I think I was listening to The Temptations, tbh. Middle class white kid who dug Motown.

Kind of the opposite. While I still like a lot of the stuff I liked as a teenager, I really, really enjoyed discovering "new music." Or new to me at least.

When I was early teens I started playing drums and became obsessed with Dave Matthew’s band. Simply bc of Carter Beauford but then ended up going to 40 something concerts over my lifetime. I don’t really listen to them much anymore unless a really good #41 live comes on the shuffle or something. Not my favorite band anymore

My favorite bands at 13 were Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Yellowcard, Jimi Hendrix, and Blink 182. I definitely still love all of those bands, though I don’t listen to Nirvana as much as I did then.

At 13 it was probably Three Dog Night and I still love them.

I haven't had a singular favorite in decades. Just lot of bands and singers I enjoy.

I miss Corey Wells and the sounds of Jimmy Greenspoon's Hammond B3. RIP

Unfortunately, “Joy to the World” was my initial and repeated exposure to them, and it soured me on them.
