But the fact that no one has mentioned original Bingham is a damn shame. Start with his Mescalito then work into some Marshall Tucker, Fulbright, and Turnpike

I'll give you specific song recommendations if you want. I grew up listening to country before expanding my horizons, and even today I still can only really listen to country from the late 80's and 90's.

Just start youtube searching Red Dirt or go to the Texas Music Chart site and explore some of the artist that you find on there.

I think you may find you'll enjoy:

Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Mickey and the Motorcars, Randy Rogers Band, Brandon Jenkins, and maybe some Casey Donahew, Stoney LaRue, and Whiskey Myers too.


eta: also the Wormy Dog's website has a streaming music player that usually has some solid stuff on it.

believe it or not, Aaron Lewis has two country albums out, and BOTH are quite good..
