What is too old to go to bonneroo?

I don't know. I'll be 49 when this one happens, and I just don't have the energy to sustain 3 days of music outside in June in the South. It'd take me at least a week to recover.

I did the first Bonnoroo when I was much younger, and it took me a few days to recover.

I know rap isn't popular on this board, but RTJ, Megan Thee Stallion, Nelly, Kevin Gates, Dababy, Denzel Curry and JID is a loaded lineup that covers all the bases.

Nelly for older fans. Megan and Dababy for pop fans. RTJ, Denzel, Gates and JID would be the ones I'd be most hyped to see.

What year did Bonnaroo become more mainstream and not as Jam Band?

Probably 2010ish though there was a transition period where it was more general rock than jambands

A Decade??? '10 - '12 are easily better than this. I will say that this is the best lineup they've had the last 5 years which coincides with when they sold off a large portion of the fest to LiveNation.

When did Tame Impala become a major headliner? I don’t get it

They seem like the King of Leon of the past few years where it’s cool to say you like them. Don’t get their popularity

They put me to sleep

I can manage the no AC fine. It's all the walking, standing, moving to the music, sleeping on the ground with people partying all night around you, etc. that would wreck me by Sunday morning. I need my sleep, and from my experience there's not much sleeping going on at Bonnaroo. I could maybe swing it with an RV. Do the RV lots there have electric hook ups?

You could give me free airfare, free car rental, free nasty Bonnaroo tent, and free VIP passes, and I would still say no. And that's not hyperbole.

I say free nasty tent, because nice lodging, I mean, why not?

I wouldn't mind seeing that Remain In Light Turns 40 thing with Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew.

About right. 2007-1010 or so was just general rock, some hard rock/metal in there, some jam bands. I went in 2007 and that lineup was fantastic. Where I got introduced to Clutch.

Great year.

I am somewhat intrigued with this year's though. A lot of garbage (IMO garbage, i know plenty like it), but some really solid acts as well.

Best bonnaroo has had in well over a decade

This made me think of past lineups and how they compare to this year. Basically...what bands in each year would I listen to before considering watching Lizzo and Miley Cyrus:

2010 - Dave Matthews Band; Kings of Leon; Stevie Wonder; Jay-Z, Weezer; The Flaming Lips; Tenacious D; John Fogerty; The Avett Brothers; Zac Brown Band; Les Claypool; John Prine; The Black Keys; Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers; Jeff Beck; Jamey Johnson; Kris Kristofferson; Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; They Might Be Giants; Punch Brothers; Blues Traveler; Miranda Lambert; Trombone Shorty; Dave Rawlings Machine; Cross Canadian Ragweed; Mumford & Sons

2011 - Eminem; Widespread Panic, The Black Keys; Buffalo Springfield (with Stills,Young, Rosas and Vitale); My Morning Jacket; Robert Plant; Mumford & Sons; Ray Lamontagne; Primus; Dr. John; Alison Krauss & Union Station; Gregg Allman; Old Crow Medicine Show; The Del McCoury Band; Bela Fleck & The Flecktones; Bruce Hornseby; Loretta Lynn; Amos Lee; Justin Townes Earle; Abigail Washburn; (Comedy Tent) - Lewis Black, Cheech Marin; Ralphie May; Henry Rollins; Donald Glover; Nate Bargatze

I was going to do each year...but there isn't any need. There isn't any way I would pay the price, sleep in the heat and dirt and deal with the overpowering B.O. for this year's lineup.

Absolutely the most fun I’ve ever had at a music festival.
