Tom Cochrane - Life Is A Highway

Always liked that song - until freakin' Rascal Flatts tried to remake it.

Another good one is Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares To You (even though Prince wrote it).

Which is a shame because they have a few good songs.

Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London
Stealers Wheel - Stuck in the Middle with You

Zevon had another pretty good song called Lawyers, Guns & Money and he did play with Fleetwood Mac for a while.

Stealer's Wheel produced the one and only Jerry Rafferty (Baker Street).

And here's one that I haven't seen posted yet -

Do you know what I mean - Lee Michaels

Yep. And "The sun always shines on TV" also hit #1 in Britian and was a moderate hit in the U.S. therefore A ha technically wasn't a one hit wonder. In fact that song was better imho than Take on Me.

It's ashamed the Crash Test Dummies are considered one hit wonders because God Shuffled His Feet is easily one of the most underrated albums of the 90s. Afternoons and Coffee spoons and I think I'll disappear now are also great songs of theirs.

i agree with this also...and there are several bands/artists mentioned in this thread that don't really meet the criteria...for example, the knack and the outfield...both bands had several singles that charted.

Opus - Live is Life
Chilliwack - My Girl (She's Gone)
Times Two - Strange but True
Diesel - Sausalito Summer
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Peter Shilling - Major Tom
Paul Hardcastle - 19

bumpin for some one hit wonder love.

Far from a one hit wonder obviously but recently heard a good overlooked Elton John song the other day that I hadn't heard in years.

First and foremost, I agree that a bunch of the artists listed had other hits, or at least enjoyable songs. Someone mentioned I'll Melt With You by Modern English, and although there were no other hits from After the Snow, it's probably one of my top 30 favorite albums. What's really strange about them is how horrible (imo) their other albums are, most notably Stop/Start...absolute garbage.

She Blinded me with Science - Thomas Dolby (There again, he released Hyperactive as a single and had some other nice album work as well, which most probably aren't familliar with.
