Not an EP and probably not that obscure, but Elliott Smith's Either/Or is only $5.
Also Cloud Nothings' Attack on Memory is only $5 and it maybe my favorite album of the year. I think you I may have seen you already post about this one though.

Wow. Attack on Memory for $5 is a steal.
Great EP's? I'm always partial to Less Than Jake's Greased. Cuz let's face it, you need a ska punk version of the Grease soundtrack.

If you don't mind female singer/songwriters and a little bit of "retro-indie" - See if they have Heather Nova's Live From the Milky Way or Blow.

I'm a big fan of two John Frusciante EPs at the moment.
DC EP is a great listen. As far as Frusciante's new music goes, it's about as "normal" as you're gonna find.
Letur-Lefr is another great one. However, it's definitely out there and not for everyone--more on the electronic/hip-hop side.
Two completely different styles/sounds, but I think they're both top notch.
BTW sorry if you were looking for some different genres. Just giving my input.
