Madness - a few big hits...but a pretty deep catalogue of ska rock
A-Ha - I know I know...they had a small run here in the US...but great run for years
Elbow and Biffy Clyro - two huge bands that I cannot figure why they have not translated to the US
Sevendust - they have some great songs and are terrific live
70s band that I think is damn good but hardly ever mentioned...Dr. Hook

Guy I waited tables with in college claimed to be Hook's nephew. Obscure enough to be unverifiable, but also could have been true. Who knows?

They had a pretty big following back in the day, but they are irrelevant now.

Easily it's April Wine followed by Cinderella....yes Cinderella got their videos shown on MTV and a lot of people heard of them but they were legit top level blues rockers

Good call. The other one I forgot was mentioned in an earlier response was XTC.

The Band...
How they're not widely recognized as the originators of country rock is confounding.
The Band is considered one of the best groups of all time. They were first-ballot Hall-of-Famers and The Last Waltz is one of the best and most well known music documentaries ever.
I think they get plenty of credit.
Perhaps if they had not broken up and continued to record and tour like many acts of their era, they would be even more well known and get even more credit.

Cinderella - they are considered a 80’s Glam band, but some of their stuff still holds up like from Long Cold Winter and there bluesier side.
